America West s a great company that offers a valuable service - namely, discount airfare without the sacrifices you make with say, Southwest. Unlike their counterpart, America West offers assigned seating, optional meals on board, and a first class seating section.

As I have used it many times, it is well laid-out, with the airports that Ameria West flies to as the only choices in the drop-down box. One-way and round-trip flights are equally convenient to search for. Bear in mind that the first prices that are given exclude taxes and fees. They do have a small message that says that, but it's easy to ignore, as the discount airfare websites always include those fees in their original price. Go a few screens in, and the fees get added.

America West has its major Hub in Phoenix, so if you need to go there, you will find many options with America West. A lot of their itineraries go through Phoenix, as you will notice.

If they have a seat left after everyone is in, you get on the plane for a greatly reduced rate. This is particularly useful for students wanting to travel cheaply abroad on their summer vacations. I've seen this work many times. The other little-known way to save on travel is by signing up as a courier. Courier Travel can get you a flight for almost nothing and sometimes even free! The International Association of Air Travel Couriers can get you signed up for this.
